Deleting and exporting

Delete a session

align sessions # what was kept from your sessions here
align sessions show <id>
align sessions rm <id>

rm asks you to type y in your own terminal. It deletes the session's kept lines and its events, removes every receipt that quoted it, withdraws proposals that came only from it and removes their wording. Decisions someone confirmed stay, with the confirmation as their receipt. Events from that session not yet uploaded are deleted from your laptop. In the console, Delete this session on a session's page does the same; it cannot be undone.

Stop capture

  • align off stops capturing this repository at once and deletes the events here that were not uploaded yet.
  • align uninstall removes what was added for this repository; align uninstall --purge --yes also signs you out everywhere and deletes everything ALIGN keeps on this laptop. Neither deletes data on the server.

Delete your account

Your settings in the console → Delete my account: type delete my account to confirm. Your sessions, tokens, browser sign-ins and memberships end at once, and your name and address are removed. Decisions you confirmed stay with your organisations, attributed to a deleted account. If you are the last owner of an organisation, make someone else an owner or delete the organisation first.

Delete an organisation

Owners: Settings → Danger zone → type the organisation's address → Delete this organisation. Everyone's access ends at once. Everything is deleted after 7 days; until then an owner can Cancel the deletion from the console, and members get their access back (each developer opts in again).

Export your ledger

align export # Markdown to the terminal
align export --format json --out ./ledger # ledger.json
align export --layout adr --out ./decisions # one file per decision, plus a README
OptionEffect
--format md|jsonMarkdown (default) or JSON
--layout single|adrone DECISIONS.md (default) or one file per decision (needs --out)
--out <dir>write files into this directory
--include-privatealso your own proposals nobody else sees yet
--forcereplace files in --out that are not an earlier export

In the console, the Ledger page exports one repository as Markdown or JSON; the download link works for 15 minutes. An export contains only what you can read.
